Referral Guidelines
We are happy to receive referrals for any of the procedures listed. You can refer/ be referred to us on a “named surgeon basis” through Cornwall’s Referral Management Service (RMS) to ensure you are guaranteed an appointment at Probus Surgical Centre.
Local Anaesthetic
All our operations are performed under local anaesthetic.
Chronic Illness
Patients with chronic stable medical conditions are accepted.
Warfarin
Patient on warfarin are accepted as long as there is no barrier to stopping the treatment for a few days before hand, (although this is not always required, please ask for details)
Mental Health and Learning Disability
We will assess patients with mental health problems and/ or learning disabilities.
Exclusions
Allergies to local anaesthetics agents, patients under 18, weight over 26 stones ,(operating table weight restrictions).
MRSA Screening
MRSA screening is required pre-operatively for all high risk patients in order to keep our infection rates low.
Disabilities/Access/language
Please contact us regarding any special needs that your patient may have so that we may make any necessary preperations to meet those needs. The Probus Surgical Centre is single storey and provides disabled access to all areas
