  • Would you like to influence the development of local surgical services?
  • Are you interested in finding out more about the Surgical Centre?
  • Do you have some spare time to attend meetings once every three months or complete questionnaires/surveys?

If you answered yes to any of the questions we would love to hear from you.

As well as holding a bi-annual meeting in the Surgical Centre, the group will correspond virtually which would mean most communication is carried out by e-mail, thus allowing members to contribute to discussions within their own time.  However as some of the members do not have access to e-mail we will correspond in writing.

If you are interested in joining our Patient Reference Group, please complete the below form:

Frequently asked questions:

What is the Patient Participation Group? This is a group of volunteer patients and service users along with members of the Surgical Centre staff who aim to communicate at regular intervals and contribute to decisions about the range and quality of services provided at Probus Surgical Centre as well as seek your views about important issues and developments. We aim to meet twice a year and to carry out surveys seeking your opinion on various matters. From this, we consider changes that you feel are needed to improve the services and then implement them wherever possible.

At its simplest, patient participation refers to patients and service users who are taking an active interest in the healthcare that the Surgical Centre provides.

Will the questions you ask me be medical or personal? We will only ask questions about the Surgical Centre, such as short questionnaires in regard to potential new services, the quality of our services etc. Who else will be able to access my contact details? Your contact details will be kept safely and will only be used for this purpose and will not be shared with anybody else. What if I no longer wish to be on the contact list? If you do not wish to receive further messages, please just let us know and we will take your name off our contact list.

The information you supply us will be used lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to know what information is held about you and sets out rules to make sure that this information is handled properly.
