History of Probus Surgical Centre

The service which has grown to become the Probus Surgical Centre started out in 1995 as a local service to provide surgical treatment to the patients of Probus GP surgery.

With the problems associated with waiting lists and of having to travel to Treliske and sometimes even further, the service started to become very popular with our patients.

Now, everyone knows you can’t keep a good thing to yourself in Cornwall and soon we were being asked to treat patients from other surgeries in the County.

The treatment provided by the centre is now known all over the United Kingdom for its high quality service delivery and patient satisfaction outcomes. In fact, this little surgical centre has earned recognition as a centre of real excellence and was used as a pilot site for the Department of Health ‘Care Closer to Home’ project. The centre is recognised by the Care Quality Commission.
